D.M. Barr writes a quirky and engaging “coming of age” story with a kinky twist.  Dani Barrett has just come out of an unfulfilling marriage carrying with her the stigma of adult ADHD, which had in the past led her to impulsive actions.  As she restarts her job as a travel trade journalist at 35, she arrives in Argentina with nine other journalists for a country tour, her long-time friend Liam, some female writers and James Aldridge, a wealthy owner of Aldridge Publications. She has laid down some rules for herself, and therefore she is not on the lookout for a relationship.  However, intriguing Brit, James, catches her eye, and they begin a tentative friendship leaden with a promise of things hinted at and not said.  James is on the writing tour as a cover for his investigative writing,  taking days away from the tour group as he needs to follow up on his sources.  Dani is writing Erotica under a pseudonym, and as her alter ego slips out now and then, she realises that she may have a real Dom on tour with her.  Dani is in real danger of coming face to face with her fantasies when real danger changes her trip into a race for her and James’ lives.

Simple Tryst of Fate Some Rules are Meant to be Broken (The Tryst Series Book 1) by D.M. Barr sizzles with sexy banter and innuendo.  D.M Barr succeeds in building sexual tension through subtle dialogue and actions.  The topic of BDSM and D/s is treated in good taste that should not offend the more conservative romance readers.  Filled with images of Argentina, the author adds a scenic backdrop to an easy read with sizzle and humour that makes the reader want to finish the book in one sitting.
