Hot Magic Black Cat Antiquities Book 1 (Cat's Paw Cove Series Book 5) by Catherine Kean

Hot Magic by Black Cat Antiquities Book 1 (Cat's Paw Cove Series Book 5) by Catherine Kean tells the story of Lucian Lord, a 12th Century Knight A sorceress cursed him with her dying breath. He and his squire (who is now a cat) are cursed to be reincarnated for eternity. Lucian is bound to an organization, the Experts, that monitors and controls magic. This has led to the demise of any relationships he has started. While Lucian looks after his Grandfather’s antique shop in Cat’s Paw cove, he observes a spike of dark magic which he has to investigate. His investigation brings danger and destruction to the antique shop, and what he uncovers brings back an old nemesis Lucien thought was long gone.

After Molly’s mother died, she has to go through the contents of the house to judge what can be sold or what needs to be kept. She meets Lucian at the antique shop, and the two have an instant connection. As she cleans, she finds an old wooden box that contains a unique necklace. However, the necklace has a dark influence on Molly, and soon she and Lucian are caught up in a fight against dark magic that could be the end of them both. True to his medieval background Lucian has very romantic notions when it comes to their relationship, and Molly might just get every girl’s dream – a Knight in shining armor.

Hot Magic by Black Cat Antiquities Book 1 (Cat's Paw Cove Series Book 5) by Catherine Kean is narrated by Rebecca Winder, an experienced and popular narrator for romantic fiction. She brings the story to life through her varied character interpretations, and the listener can visualize the characters in their imaginations. What I liked about the narration was that even the cats sounded like cats and not like someone trying to be a cat. The characters came across as authentic and promise to become beloved additions to many audio libraries.
