Terah Edun

Terah Edun is the New York Times bestselling author of the Courtlight, Crown Service, and Algardis series, set in the eponymous Algardis Universe. Her books boast exhilarating adventures, breathless romance, and incredible fantasy for readers of all ages. Her Courtlight and Crown Service series are in libraries and bookstores, are “sure to whet readers’ appetite for suspense and intrigue” according to RT Book Review, and can be seen on the USA Today Happily Ever After blog. Together the series has sold over a quarter-million copies. Her books are available in five languages, audio, and print. She is the author of 15+ books and her latest release is here: teedun.com/newrelease. You can find her on

I promised a review of my favourite authors.  I chose to begin with Terah as I recently finished her latest book Blades of Sorcery.

The Crown Service series is set during the Initiate Wars which precede the story of Ciardis in the Courtlight Series.

I love the way she writes, there is a lot of action in each book, which focuses on one very important incident in the plot.  As the Courtlight series has an arc of twelve books it leaves a lot of room for character development.  It is a book for young adults and I feel the author carefully deals with the conflict the characters experience as they have to deal with grown-up issues and still remain teenagers that grow up amidst the turmoil surrounding them.  Add a centuries-old Daemonie Prince who lives to create mischief and has an eye on Ciardis as well as a Dragon who has plans for Ciardis as well.

There is a lot of intrigue and passion as well as well placed humour.  This is a clean read with a lot of magic and sword fight.  For me, the Courtlight series is the teenage version of the Throne of Glass series of SJ Maas.  Not that the stories are the same but they have the same epic atmosphere with magic and love mixed in very skillfully.

Sworn to Raise, the first of the Courtlight series is available for free here
Blades of Magic is available here for free.
