The Lies we Tell - Brittany Butler

Image
I received this book as an ARC and will give my honest opinion. I have read Hazed by the same author so I had an idea of the type of relationship issues that could be touched upon in the book. The author has a unique way of writing about real people with real problems. How many people do we know that run away when things become tough. They just pick up and leave without communicating their fears and reasons for panic. Natalie starts by lies by omission and as far as she goes she tends to continue this pattern. What I do notice is that the characters have trouble communicating, which leads to breaks in their relationships. I am not a big fan of these kinds of books as they tend to affect me negatively, I find it sad that there may be people out there who live their lives like this. However, it is a realistic book and I would recommend it for those who do not wish to travel too far into fiction when they read and who wants to read about other people's mistakes.

The Perfect Duke by Deborah Wilson

Asher Curbain is the Perfect Duke. He places duty before himself and wants to see everyone content but locks himself away behind walls as thick as his country estate's. Lady Wycliff just wants to be independent and have nobody decide her life for her. Ms. Wilson delivers in the third book of the Valiant love series. She produces real characters with depth and pulls you into the story that you cannot put the book down. She writes good clean stories with virtue and honour that is rare in today's literature. Sometimes you just want to read a story with good energy and chemistry without the sex thrown in. I would recommend this and the previous books with pleasure and I cannot wait for Valiant's story next. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

The Perfect Gentleman - Deborah Wilson

Lady Brinley has resigned herself to be a spinster and has a secret that will enable her to live by her own means. With a house party held by her sister's in-laws, she meets Lore. He has a history that he wishes to avoid. With her Father's interference, Brinley and Lore are pushed together and become unlikely allies. But both of them are in for a huge surprise as they learn that love and friendship can come at most inconvenient times.  Deborah Wilson has delivered another tasteful and lovely story of life for the ton and the conventions women were forced to endure. A lovely read with no swearing or characters acting in poor taste. This is a good clean read that reads easily and offers an engaging and humorous storyline. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who loves regency novels . I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Time Crawlers – Varun Sayal

“Billions of universes run slightly parallel to our own universe; worlds full of infinite possibilities”                                                                                                                                                                                                 Varun Sayal – Foreword: Time Crawlers                                                                      click on the image to go to amazon In a literary world where it seems that shifter-, paranormal- and regency romance has taken over, is it still possible to find pure science fiction?  Varun Sayal has written six sci-fi short stories that remind of Asimov and his great science fiction feats.  Sayal writes technical and the emphasis of these stories is clearly on the science part of the fiction.  He explains the science behind the stories in highly technical language and through this provides a sense of truth to what he conveys.  The stories vary in structure and theme and

Keeper of the Wolves by Cheree Alsop

Wolves did not hope. They accepted life as it came and learned to flow with the path of their padding paws. One could not change the past nor predict the future, so to worry or mourn with regret the way things happened was foreign to animals of the wild. Cheree Alsop. Keeper of the Wolves (Kindle Locations 107-109). Koya sees him in his cage and buys him from the Cruel One.  Joven her twin brother is not too happy with her but concedes that she may heal him.  Koya befriends Victus and through the crises surrounding their kingdom, Victus
