Blood Mark by JP Mclean
Abandoned at birth and left as an orphan twice
after that, Jane Walker has made it through the Foster Care system with her
best friend, Sadie. Promising themselves never to look back but always look to
the future, they have made a life for themselves. However, Jane has hidden a
unique pattern of blood-red birthmarks that snake around her body. Always
hiding them and wishing them away. When they suddenly start disappearing and
her nightmares become clearer, she realizes that they may have more to do with
her safety than she previously thought. Connecting with a professor at the
university, Jane discovers that her birthmark may be much more than she
thought. Sadie has her own battles to fight as she is caught in the seedy world
of a high-end call girl. Neither of the girls could have imagined the lengths a
Narcissistic doctor would go to protect his lies and deceit. When Jane
disappears, Sadie has to join forces with Janes friends to find her before time
runs out. JP McLean writes an edge of your seat thriller with some unexpected
twists.
Blood Mark by JP Mclean is a well written
psychological thriller. The author successfully weaves the paranormal aspect
through the story, making the whole narrative natural and flowing, easy to
follow. The author touches on various themes, such as the broken child welfare
system and the dark world of prostitution. The characters have human flaws, and
one can relate to their circumstances and decisions. Some sexual content, drug
use, and violence all complement the narrative.
